Editing Uniforms (1980)

The uniforms worn in ''[[Galactica 1980]]'' are, for the most part, the [[Uniforms (TOS)|same uniforms]] used in the [[Battlestar Galactica (TOS)|Original Series]] from which it had sprung. 

There are a few notable differences, however.

== Boomer's Uniform ==
Colonel [[Boomer (1980)|Boomer]] wears two different uniforms in the series, the [[Uniforms (TOS)#Warrior uniforms|Warrior]] and [[Uniforms (TOS)#Blue Officer uniform|blue officer]] type.

The unique feature of both uniforms, starting from "[[The Super Scouts, Part I]]", is the presence of an emblem pinned to the neck piece, which is silver.<ref>This is the same emblem that [[Cain (TOS)|Cain]] had on his [[Uniforms (TOS)#Cain's command uniform|uniform]], but in gold. The emblem is later reused as the [[Star of Kobol]].</ref><gallery>

== Environmental Spacesuit ==

Apparently included as part of every [[Viper (1980)|Viper]] are two sets of space suits which permit the occupants to exit the ship while in space. 

While the [[Space suit (TOS)|suits]] were first featured in the [[Original Series]] episode "[[Fire in Space]]", the major difference is the helmet, which is a helmet with a black visor and the hawk-like emblem on the forehead.

== Pilot Uniforms ==

=== D Squadron ===

Members of [[D Squadron]] appear to have either variants of the beige tunic and brown jacket uniforms, or completely different ones. In one instance, an unnamed dark-skinned pilot appears to have a metallic chest plate, with a dark jacket underneath. Another pilot wears a black leather jacket, and, yet another pilot, wears a neckerchief at the neck with a silver emblem with the standard Warrior outfit and jacket<ref>This was also a part of [[Cain (TOS)|Cain]]'s [[Uniforms (TOS)#Cain's command uniform|uniform]] in "[[The Living Legend]]". The emblem is later reused as the [[Star of Kobol]].</ref> attached to said neckerchief {{G80|Space Croppers}}.

=== Helmets ===

A new Viper pilot helmet makes its sole appearance in "[[Space Croppers]]," with two distinct color schemes. Smaller than its predecessor, it features a tighter and angular jawline thus fitting closely to the wearer's jaw, and a noticeable chin-guard with angled microphone grill. A leather strap wraps under the jaw to keep the helmet in place, a feature absent from the prior helmets.

The primary base color has two variations: the beige-ochre version worn by [[Troy (1980)|Troy]] and [[Dillon]], mirroring the coloration of the previous helmet, and a dark bronze version worn by [[D Squadron]].

== Accessories ==

As part of the uniforms of Galacticans, they carry a [[wrist computron]] which aids them in various ways while on their mission to [[Earth (1980)|Earth]]. Not only is this standard equipment for Warriors, but also for the [[Super Scouts]] {{G80|The Super Scouts|Spaceball}} and agricultural workers {{G80|Space Croppers}} settling on Earth. [[Adama (1980)|Adama]] briefly wears one while onboard ''[[Galactica (1980)|Galactica]]'' {{G80|Spaceball}}
