The '''Tharian spaceship'''<ref>{{Bsgwiki term}}</ref> is a massive, silent vessel that appears in the path of ''[[Galactica (TOS-LM)|Galactica]]'' as it approaches the planet [[Thar (TOS-LM)|Thar]].

The ship has an angular, asymmetrical design, with a large, purple-hued main body and a prominent, off-center command section of a lighter color. It does not respond to any communications and appears to be an inert, solid object. However, it is later revealed to be an illusion—a holographic image of a small model, extra-dimensionally projected into space and enlarged ten thousand times by the advanced Tharians. It was created as a test to gauge the peaceful nature of the Colonials.

When [[Boomer (TOS-LM)|Boomer]] fires on it in a misunderstanding, his laser blasts pass harmlessly through the vessel before the image breaks up and vanishes completely.
