  • I don´t think Yashuman is one of the battlestars above Caprica. In the dialogue between Yashuman and Caprica-control, Yashuman confirms the enemy by visual contact ("Caprica Control, Yashuman. Heavy bogeys, six plus, lower orbit, over grid 15-2."). Due to the virus the battlestars can´t confirm the Cylons. So Yashuman has to be a pilot who´s got visual contact. Also Yashuman want´s the other Officer to "go to [his] window and look out", so Yashuman has to speak with a battlestar. -- HurricaneAC 20:26, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
    • I have to disagree: 1) At first, neither of the battlestars in that scene (or their viper squadrons) had received the Cylon shutdown code yet. Before the line of dialogue you quoted, the Hybrid says, "Accessing defense system. Handshake, handshake. Second level clear." The "defense system" wouldn't be individual ships, but would instead be something that's more centralized (and likely planet based)--the "Caprica Control" that is contacted by the Yashuman. If both Caprica Control and Yashuman had been hit simultaneously, there wouldn't have been an exchange about one party being able to see the Cylons and the other not being able to see them. It's not until after the exchange between Caprica Control and Yashuman that the battlestars and the vipers are scanned and given the shutdown code. 2) Why would a ship in orbit of Picon contact Caprica? It would most likely contact the nearest base, instead--"Picon Control." Besides, Picon was the headquarters of the Colonial Fleet, so a ship in orbit of Picon would be even less likely to contact Caprica Control. 3) If you look at the planet in the first shot, especially beneath the battlestars, a generous chunk of land is visible. A few minutes earlier, it was established that Picon has no large land masses at all, just tiny smudges of brown in that planetwide ocean. It could theoretically be another one of the Twelve Colonies, but since the story focus at the point was on just those two planets, it is most likely Caprica. Keeping all of this in mind, the Yashuman and the other battlestar would have to be in orbit of Caprica. -- BlueResistance 04:39, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
