Has anyone else ever wondered why Sharon never calls Helo "Karl"? It seems to me like an emotional detatchement in her that nobody is recognizing (the characters) Rocky8311 19:33, October 17, 2005 (EDT)

:Galactica-Boomer always called Tyrol "Chief", never "Galen". --April Arcus 21:22, 17 October 2005 (EDT)

::RDM explained this in the blog:  we've never heard Tyrol called Galen out loud before this episode, "I am Galen Tyrol! My father was a priest!...", etc.  Only people who read the blog would know his name; casual viewers would not.  He said it would have sounded odd and ruined the dramatic moment, and I'm inclined to agree. --Ricimer 21:55, 17 October 2005 (EDT)

:I consulted my trusty "Character Naming Sourcebook" and while it does not have an "Agathon" it does have "Agaton" which means "Pure." -- AerynSun44 22:20, 19 April 2006 (CDT)
:I think the poet is the most (only?) credible origin. --April Arcus 22:56, 19 April 2006 (CDT)
::I concur, for what it's worth. I think the others bear inclusion if only because they'd likely be re-added less prettily anyway. --CalculatinAvatar 23:18, 19 April 2006 (CDT)

'...I never really thought of the Raptor as a transport, I usually thought of it as analogous to the Navy's EA-6 Prowler (a variant of the A-6 Intruder popularized in "Flight of the Intruder")' -RDM at http://blog.scifi.com/battlestar/ (current entry, dated April 18th) --CalculatinAvatar 20:29, 19 April 2006 (CDT)

:The part that will blow your mind is that *I* asked that question in the blog thread (about Starship Troopers) naught but 2 days ago (there is little rhyme or reason to how Ron pics questions for the blog from the message thread, but he tends to pic the most recent....which is why every 2-3 months I repost the 30 or so pretty good questions which have yet to be answered in one long list.  Hey, it beats that idiot who wondered if the Cylons somehow injected Caprica-Sharon full of human egg cells (Ron answered that....but I think only in disgust that someone thought something so wacky).  --The Merovingian (C - E) 20:47, 19 April 2006 (CDT)
::That's actually quite hilarious. Anyway, I'll note the visual inspiration, which, upon reflection, that quote does not address. --CalculatinAvatar 23:07, 19 April 2006 (CDT)
Karl "C." Agathon
Apparently "C" is for cookie. That's good enough for me. (Just made me laugh. I think the "C" is still a mystery at this point).--Steelviper 15:41, 1 June 2006 (CDT)
Rank
Is it just me, or was Helo wearing Captain rank pins in Exodus, Part II? --Madbrood 07:04, 22 October 2006 (CDT)
:It isn't just you... It's been clear that Helo was promoted to captain in AMOS. Indeed, you helped significantly on determining since when he's got the new rank. -- Infestans 06:41, 16 November 2006 (GMT):
Time for some cleanup
It's really time to clean up this article. We need to stop using callsigns all the time (no reason to call Karl Agathon by his callsign—"Helo"—in the article), the only callsigns we should use in the article are for Boomer and Athena, if only to differentiate the two Sharons he's run into in his miserable life. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 22:14, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
:Maybe some folks haven't read the appropriate Standards and Conventions section.  Perhaps some more explicit direction in that area could be helpful, too?-- Fredmdbud 05:42, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
