The description of  "the (questionably useful) helmet seen on Colonial Warriors in the Original Series" seems a little mean spirited. At the time the original series was made, no one had yet made a fully enclosed helmet with sufficient airflow to prevent the visor fogging up. At the time force fields were very popular in science fiction media, and I had assumed that the row of lights at the top and bottom of the face opening represented a force field being activated, which would imply the same effect as the visors used in the new helmets,  while being possible within the technical limitations of the time.

I warned you that it was trivial, and you are perfectly free to delete this if you prefer. No disrespect was intended by my post, and none will be taken if you do so. Kjotvi

: Worry not, nothing here is "off topic." :)

: What you mention is true regarding the terminology regarding the vintage flight suits and should be corrected. Feel free to take it upon yourself to do that, should you desire it.

: As for the second point regarding the Original Series's helmets, the common assumption is that the row of lights were some sort of force field. In Richard Hatch's novels, and in even some of the old Berkley novelizations, I believe they mention this to be the case. In any event, since you feel that the wording seems a bit mean spirited, then perhaps it can be revised to remove this connotation. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 15:26, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
