During refueling operations over a gas giant, a valve failure requires a restart of the [[unrep]] maneuver with ''Galactica'' {{TRS|Maelstrom}}.

She is captained by [[Doyle Franks]] post-[[Passage (star cluster)|passage]], who is selected as one of five judges at [[Gaius Baltar]]'s trial {{TRS|Crossroads, Part I}}<ref>The [[:Image:PatchPrometheus.jpg|patch]] on her dress uniform establishes her as a crewmember of ''Prometheus''.</ref>. After the trial, ''Prometheus'' jumps into the [[Ionian nebula]] and loses power before a [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylon]] [[Battle of the Ionian Nebula|attack on the Fleet]] {{TRS|Crossroads, Part II}}.

== Behind the Scenes ==

The first appearance of ''Prometheus'' in the Fleet was in "[[Black Market]]," as the model was explicitly made for that episode by [[Alain Rivard]]. 

As the original model was solely of hero quality, its use proved cumbersome for standard transitional and establishing shots. Thus, as with multiple models from [[Season 2]], it would be upgraded and remastered into multiple versions (from low resolution for far shots to a high-quality "hero" model for close-up shots) in [[Season 3]] by [[Gary Hutzel]]'s in-house VFX team. *The freighter is named from the [[Lords of Kobol (RDM)|Lord of Kobol]] [[Prometheus]].  The deity Prometheus is noted for taking fire from the Gods and giving it to the humans against [[Zeus]]'s wishes. Given [[Tom Zarek]]'s continual referencing of Admiral [[William Adama|Adama]] as Zeus, and the fact that ''Prometheus'' is the hub of the [[black market (organization)|black market]], an organization which seeks to redistribute goods from the military to the civilians, the parallel is very apparent.
