The '''Majahual''' is a [[mining ship]] in [[The Fleet (RDM)|the Fleet]].  It conducts mining operations for five weeks in the asteroid belt of an unnamed star system, during which time the Colonials face repeated harassment by Cylon [[Raider]]s.

The battlestar ''[[Galactica (RDM)|Galactica]]'' stays behind to protect the ''Majahual'' during its mining. ''Galactica'' must use [[Mark One Eyeball|visual sighting]] from their [[CAP]] Vipers to eliminate the Raiders since [[DRADIS]] cannot differentiate the system's debris from the enemy fighters.

The ''Majahual'' is able to collect enough "strategic ore" to allow the Viper construction resources on the battlestar ''[[Pegasus (RDM)|Pegasus]]'' an opportunity to construct at least two squadrons of [[Viper (RDM)|Viper Mk. VII fighters]]  ([[Scar]]).

"Majahual" is the name of a small fishing and resort village on Mexico's Caribbean coast. What relation this could have to Colonial history is unclear; it may be a coincidence. The name apparently means "No water for the witch" in Mayan.
