The '''Los Angeles Police Department''' (LAPD) is a civilian law enforcement organization responsible for enforcement of laws and civilian criminal investigation in the city and county of [[Los Angeles]], [[California]], [[United States of America]] circa [[1980]] CE.

Officers from this agency apprehend {{1980|Troy}} and [[Dillon]] following their alleged break in at Dr. [[Donald Mortinson]]'s lab. Troy and Dillon are briefly incarcerated before using their personal [[invisibility field]]s to escape the holding tank, much to the consternation of Sergeant {{1980|James}} and to the bemusement of Officer [[Dorbin]] {{G80|Galactica Discovers Earth, Part I}}.

Upon fleeing the Nazi Germany of the 1930s, [[Xaviar]] convinces two LAPD beat officers to drive him to the [[UBC]] building in order to meet with Mortinson {{G80|Galactica Discovers Earth, Part II}}.
