During the [[Battle of Kobol (TOS-RH)|Battle of Kobol]], ''Cerebus'' participates in the massive fleet evacuation from the underground city beneath the planet's surface. As civilian vessels emerge through the crystalline fissure into the atmosphere, they become targets for attacking [[Cylons (TOS)|Cylon]] [[Raider (TOS)|Raiders]] and [[Chitain]] Stinger fighters.

In the midst of the aerial battle, three Cylon Raiders that had been on the planet's surface rise through the cloud cover thrown up by the attack on the hidden city, attempting a strafing run against the unarmed civilian ships. The battlestar ''[[Daedelus (TOS-RH)|Daedelus]]'', under [[Athena (TOS-RH)|Captain Athena]]'s command, trains its artillery on the Raiders as they conduct their flyby. The Cylon ship is destroyed, its flaming wreckage spinning down to the surface of Kobol.<ref name="RES210" />
