This proposal addresses on the need to properly archive discussions of deleted pages on the Battlestar Wiki.
In the past, various pages have been deleted, with the deletions being discussed on the talk pages prior to the actual act. Of course, depending on the administrator executing the deletion, the administrator may have chosen to delete the discussion page as well.
I believe that all deletion decisions on talk pages should be archived. There are three ways we can do this:
Method 1: Tag, you were it.
Discussion pages can simply be tagged and categorized into a Pages with deletion discussions category (or similarly named) after the main article itself has been deleted.
Example: Administrator would delete Starbuck's Raider, but leave the discussion page for said deleted article (Talk:Starbuck's Raider) and simply tag it accordingly. Once tagged, the page would be added to the Pages with deletion discussions category, and would then be left alone. No muss, no fuss.
Method 2: Make it a subpage.
Discussion pages for deletions would be moved to a subpage of a page. For instance, we create a page for deletion discussions (ex: Battlestar Wiki:Deletion Discussions) and move the talk pages to be subpages of this (ex. Battlestar Wiki:Deletion Discussions/Starbuck's Raider).
We can categorize it as well.
Method 3: Move it to its own namespace
In order to remove it from the article (and article talk) namespaces, we can also move it to its own namespace. (Deletions, Discussions, or whatever name we deem usable). Obviously, we can use categories as well.
