- This is an archive of a proposal that was vetted through the Think Tank, a place where ideas of all kinds are proposed and worked upon by the community prior to implementation. There was no consensus on how to proceed regarding this proposal. It is therefore rendered inactive, until such a time where it can be revisited after a pre-determined period of time. Please do not modify this proposal.
During the season's run the Battlestar wiki keeps itself up-to date with the latest aired episodes, not just on episode pages, but also throughout the entire wiki. As of such, a person who is behind on episodes (such as someone watching outside the US, or watching reruns) will have great difficulty browsing the wiki without stumbling upon, what are to them, spoilers.
A potential solution is to provide prominent links to the relevant archived version on the Wayback machine, so readers can see the wiki as it was before the next episode in their viewing schedule aired, guaranteeing no spoilers.

What is the benefit of this proposal to the wiki?
To increase accessibility to international viewers or those watching reruns.
What is involved in implementing this idea?
Very little, just creating the right links in the right places. Currently, as battlestarwiki.org prohibits hotlinking, there would be no images in these versions, could an exception be made for Wayback?
If we were very keen (and someone with more skills than me lent some time) we could create static versions of the wiki, as was done for wikipedia with the Nostalgia Wiki. This would have the benefit of letting us choose when the snapshots are taken, as well as the archives being fast and fully illustrated. However this would be more challenging technically and would consume our server resources rather than Wayback's.
How will we use the idea?
Relevant links could be placed on the main page in the airdates box, as well as on Battlestar Wiki:Other airdates. A page could be created mapping links to different points in the series run. An initial blog post would raise awareness of the idea.
Should the proposal pass, when will work start on this idea?
Would be useful to have this implemented immediately before Razor airs, so viewers who will be buying the DVD in December can browse a spoiler-free version.
