The Battlestar Galactica Role Playing Game is a tabletop role-playing game based on the Re-imagined Series and published by Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd.. The game is designed using the Cortex System, the rules engine created by MWP for their RPG based on Joss Whedon's Firefly TV series and its motion picture continuation, Serenity.
A Quickstart Guide of the game was released as a paid downloadable PDF in August 2007[1] , with the core product later the same month premiering at Gen Con 2007 in Indianapolis. The core book was made available for wide release in September 2007[2].
Notes
- SciFi.com's Sci Fi Weekly gave the game a rating of "A-" stating:
- "Ultimately, Galactica succeeds at doing what it set out to do: providing players with the tools to re-create the desperate flight of the Twelve Colonies from their robotic enemies. The game isn't for everyone, but those who love role-playing and don't get hung up on the lethality of combat should love it."[3]
