The '''Armistice Station''' is a remote space station, built with the intent of allowing both [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylons]] and [[The Twelve Colonies of Kobol|the Twelve Colonies]] to maintain diplomatic relations after the [[Cylon War]].

The station is manned on an annual basis by a Colonial [[Armistice Officer|armistice officer]]. The last armistice officer is the father of [[Boxey (RDM)|Boxey]].<ref group="Book">{{Cite book|author=David Bassom|title=[[Battlestar Galactica: The Official Companion]]|year=2005|publisher=Titan Books|isbn=1845760972|page=26}}</ref> He maintains a few items on the negotiation desk in the meeting room of the station, suggesting the isolated and unproductive nature of his assignment:

* Personal photographs of [[Boxey (RDM)|the officer's son]] and presumably his wife.
* A schematic of an [[Cylon Centurion Model 0005|obsolete Cylon model from the end of the War.]]
* A copy of the [[Cimtar Peace Accords]], which were signed at the end of the War.

The Cylons ignore the Armistice Station and all overtures of diplomacy for forty years. In their only visit, a [[Number_Six#Armistice_Station_Copy|Number Six]], escorted by two [[Cylon_Centurion|contemporary Centurions]], boards the station and briefly interacts with the armistice officer, before the station is destroyed in the opening salvo of the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies]].

== Behind the Scenes ==
* The opening scene at the Armistice Station was not in the original draft of the Miniseries script. Executive producer [[David Eick]] requested that [[Ronald D. The Armistice Station features the seals of the two formerly warring factions above the base of its docking tube: the Cylons, indicated by a blue-green double-stroke pentagon (a nod to the design on {{TOS|Raider|Raiders}} from the [[Original Series]]); and the [[Colonial seal|Colonial Phoenix seal]] with ring featuring two sets of prongs, e.g. "ears," a nod to the Original Series logos found on fire extinguishers and other medical equipment.

Of further note, the logos swap places between the [[Armistice Officer]]'s [[Shuttle (RDM)|shuttle]] docking sequence and when the station is destroyed by a missile from the [[Basestar (TRS)|Cylon basestar]], thus beginning the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies]].
