Colonel Saul Tigh: Hero and Cylon? I don't believe so.

This is my take on the whole Colonel Tigh thing:

Using the current known history of BSG (RDM), and I apologize if I can't quote chapter & verse, how can the Colonel really be a Cylon? We know that he fought in the First Cylon War, we know that he was once a Chief Petty Officer and then ordered to flight school after a shortage of Viper pilots needed to be filled. We also know that the experimentations on humans, as found by LT "Husker" Adama did not happen towards THE END of the First Cylon War. So, when and how could the "Saul Tigh" Cylon be put into "play" on the Colonies? At this point, now this is supposition on my part, the Cylon's were still mostly "toasters" and had only recently discovered how to breed the hybrids.

There have been a few ideas about the Final Five and the Cylons in general:

One: The current known Cylon models were not based on any living human (though I agree the people found by Husker did look a little like Tyrol and Leobon)

Two: Four of the Final Five were, or could be, Gods and that they "took over" the bodies of the four Colonials after visiting the Temple. That of course would null and void Chief's observation of them always being Cylons.

I can not buy that Tigh is a Cylon in any form except idea #2.

I know all will be revealed in April. I just wanted to throw my two cubits worth in on the whole Tigh thing.
