Katee Sackhoff brings a modern twist to 'Battlestar Galactica.' Starring as "Starbuck," Commander Adama's best pilot, she is flight partner and closest comrade to "Apollo," Adama's estranged son.

Katee Sackhoff was born in Portland, Oregon, in 1980, to father Dennis Sackhoff, a land developer, and mother Mary, a coordinator for an English as a Second Language programme. At school she was a competitive swimmer, and participated in dance and drama. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Los Angeles, where she landed the lead role in the MTV pilot Locust Valley. She went on to star in the Fox Family Channel series The Fearing Mind. Sackhoff's other television credits include a recurring role on MTV's Undressed, guest spots on ER; Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane and Chicken Soup for the Soul. She also had a supporting role in the USA Network film Hefner: Unauthorized.

Sackhoff most recently starred opposite Richard Dreyfuss and Marcia Gay Harden in the CBS series, The Education of Max Bickford. On the big screen, she appeared opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in Dimension Films' Halloween 8: Resurrection. She was also featured in the films My First Mister with Christine Lahti and The Glass House with Diane Lane.

Katee Sackhoff currently resides in Los Angeles, with her dog "Meatball".
