In the never ending effort to "get our name out there" and to attract more visitors and contributors, I've been thinking about, well, MySpace.

A few websites already use MySpace to reach out to its fans. For instance, the popular "BSGCast" run by Matt and Nat uses MySpace as a means to reach out to their viewers and contributors.

While I have a few issues with MySpace myself, namely that it isn't well coded and has been known to slow down web browsers due to coding issues, MySpace boasts a massive network with tremendous growth, an ether we haven't tapped into yet.

With the blog only starting to achieve its mission, thanks in part to Sarah Toton's proactive question on the gender divide we have at BSWiki, and seeing as it has helped us keep in contact with our members, venturing into the MySpace community/realm would definitely be helpful and our next logical step in reaching out for external feedback.

To implement this, we would use the same procedures and guidelines that we use for the blog. The downside is that there would likely only be one login, so it would probably be shared solely amongst the BSWiki MySpace maintaners, which would consists of all three bureaucrats (Kevin, Shane, and Joe), in addition to any admins who want to help out.

Comments will, of course, have to be approved before being published, and we would have to check the profiles of anyone who would want to be our "friends".
