This is the overview. Basically, a summary of what the idea is about. You can get into the details later on.
Episode pages are not forums
There has been entirely too much back-and-forthing on episode guide pages since the start of the third season, and it is not possible to redact and summarize various points in a timely manner. The end result is a chatty and argumentative series of indented bullet points which is exhausting and difficult to read, and many of which do not contain substantive or interesting content.
I propose that we should address the problem by doing the following:
- Update our policy to reflect the latest informed consensus.
- Publicize said policy to new users.
- Be more stringent in chastising users who repeatedly violate these guidelines.
