Also, if you have any questions or suggestions you wish to offer, please feel free to do so either on your user talk page, the Wikipedian Quorum or Administrators' noticeboard. With the cookie-cutter greeting out of the way, I just wanted to personally welcome you to the wiki. I've been excited to see the recent influx of prominent Scifi.com members, and hope that this will lead to new and interesting things.
Since I'm here, I was wondering if you has ever considered using wiki software for something like Gemicon? I could see advantages to such a setup, as the text would flow seamlessly (no posts separating the work), the ability to easily reorganize in terms of chapters, and the ability for copyedit/typos to be done collaberatively. However, I realize there are MAJOR downsides to the wiki format, as attribution becomes a LOT less clear, the potential for people to revise sections that they ought not be revising, and the simple vandalism that wikis sometimes have to deal with. I'm not working on commission for Mediawiki, so I'm not trying to sell anything... I was just curious if anybody had considered its application here.
If you need any technical assistance on the wiki-side of things while you're here, feel free to leave a note on my talk page. --Steelviper 08:14, 7 April 2006 (CDT)
