Fan Fiction[edit]
Corey Danian[edit]
Corey Danian is a nineteen year old Viper pilot on the Battlestar Galactica in the aftermath of the attacks.
Brought aboard Galactica by his father, chief weapons control officer, Lieutenant James Danian, Corey and his mother, Caitlan Danian, lived aboard the battlestar with Lieutenant Danian. Corey has known Commander William Adama and Colonel Saul Tigh his entire life and thus was allowed to wander Galactica's halls without a pass, as he was friendly to the marines and pilots. His presence was often followed by silent observance, most notably in CIC, where he was often at Petty Officer Anastasia Dualla's station ("Miniseries"-"Final Cut")
Some eighty days after the attacks, fifteen-year-old Corey turned sixteen and was accepted to train in a Viper pilot, boosting numbers up. He received the callsign "Shadow" and a Mark II Viper, 4535NC, and was considered a natural after learning to fly without trouble within a week. He racked up considerable points and was on par with Lieutenant Brendan "Hotdog" Costanza and Lieutenant Louanne "Kat" Katraine, who had only been flying Vipers for three months ("Flight of the Phoenix").
He was also an expert navigator, as shown on Kobol when he join Commander Adama's expedition before he joined the Colonial Fleet military ("Home, Part II").
Despite his age, he is shown to be a considerable natural, rivaling Lee "Apollo" Adama and Kara "Starbuck" Thrace. He also knew the names of every single ship in the fleet and was also good friends with some of the captains ("Pegasus (Extended Edition)").
After the arrival of "Pegasus" in the fleet, Corey became good friends with Lieutenant Troy Atreus, even after the later accidentally strangled him during his trauma over the Scylla incident ("Resurrection Ship, Part I", "The Captain's Hand"). Apollo and Starbuck often confided in him and he was also quick to notice when something was up ("Epiphanies", "Black Market").
During the mining operation undertaken by the mining ship Majahual, he had managed to survive an attack by Scar thanks to the fact he managed to outsmart the Cylon Raider and play dead. He also answered the question from Ensign Joseph "Jo-Jo" Clark as to why only one mining ship was doing the mining operation by telling him that the other two mining ships (Monarch and another vessel) had been converted for other purposes ("Scar").
Corey was also proficient in weapons, not to mention size (been skinny and somewhat short), was one of the reasons he managed to avoid been shot by Sesha Abinell's friends' attack ("Sacrifice").
After the events aboard Cloud Nine, Ensign Danian was temporarily transferred to Pegasus, flying under Captain Marcia "Showboat" Case. He would remain aboard Pegasus when Apollo was transferred as Galactica's liaison and temporary flight control officer and later when Apollo took command, training to fly a Mark VII Viper ("The Captain's Hand").
He was later chosen by Major Kendra Shaw for the mission to the Guardian Basestar because his stealth-like navigating skills could come in handy. After rescuing the survivors of the Raptor mission, he transferred back to Galactica ("Razor").
During the settlement of New Caprica, Corey was promoted to lieutenant J.G. and was among Kat's trusted squad leaders. When the Cylons found New Caprica, he was seventeen and was in CIC around the command console with Admiral Adama when Galactica, Pegasus and twenty other ships jumped away ("Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II").
Four months later, Corey was involved in the planning for the rescue mission on New Caprica. Concerned for his parents and his ten-month-old baby brother, Matthew, who were trapped on the planet but working for the resistance on the planet. Working in CIC, acting as fleet operations officer, he was concerned over the safety of the civilian ships if both Galactica and Pegasus went back to New Caprica ("Occupation").
He was present at the briefing and later at Sharon Agathon's swearing of the oath. While on the hangar deck, he asked Sharon to make sure his family was okay ("Precipice").
Corey was on the hangar deck for the Salt Line Ceremony, hugging his Pegasus counterpart, Lieutenant Atreus, before the Galactica prepared to depart. He was in Adama's quarters when Helo arrived with the message that Sharon had managed to get the launch keys. He was on the hangar deck with Kat when Adama made his speech ("Exodus, Part I").
During the Battle of New Caprica, he was a member of Blue Squadron with Hotdog and Lt. Paolo "Redwing" McKay, covering Hotdog's run at the shipyard gate. As the civilian ships managed to escape and did their intra-atmospheric jumps, Corey managed to take down three Cylon Raiders attempting to destroy the Pan Galactic passenger liner, the Prometheus and two cargo transports. He was on the hangar deck when Adama was congratulated for his rescue attempt ("Exodus, Part II").

(*) I ignore the date times given by "The Plan" due to the inconsistences from the tele-movie.
(**) I ignored the scene with Laura Roslin's diagnose of a month on the outside (the scene could've fitted into "Pegasus" or "Resurrection Ship, Part I") as she seems ragged but when talking to Adama she is looking quite well. Also gives two weeks in between Tyrol starting the project to the next scene of the pilots shooting.
(***) I felt that Gaeta most likely was in a coma or on leave, explaining was his condition was better at the end of the webisode.
