I must have been five when "Battlestar Galactica" was first being aired on TV. Back then, "Lost in Space" and "Star Trek" were the best source for science fiction on the small screen, or of course you could go see "Star Wars" in the theaters. I think I will always remember the way that the colonial Viper pilots would shoot down their launch tubes out into space, and how the red LED would scan back and forth on the cylons' faces.

I've remained a fan of the original series. Over the years, I'd sit down on a Saturday to watch one of the two-parter "Battlestar Galactica" episodes that were shown as movies on the syndicated channels. My parents didn't have cable back then, so this was the only way for me to get my fix for "Galactica." Later on, I started college and discovered the Sci-fi channel on cable. It was at this point that I became reaquianted with other sci-fi favorites such as "Buck Rogers." But, "Battlestar Galactica" still rates high in my book.

I watched the new pilot movie for "Battlestar Galactica" when it aired on Sci-Fi. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but then as I watched the series which begun shortly after I started to appreciate the new approach it was taking.
