I've got this weird feeling, hunch and perhaps fanwank :) I'll let you guys be the judge
- I've been thinking about recent events and I knew that something was coming together in my head. But I think I can formulate something worth while to contribute here. I'll start with What some people have mentioned before, the "Thirteenth Zodiac Sybol", which is called Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus which the ancient Greeks often equated with Asclepius, was believed to be the God of Healing, and was even able to bring back the dead! Asclepius and Ophiuchus origins have been suggested to have been greatly influenced by the Oldest western diety to have been tied to healing, The Egyptian God Isis (interstingly, Isis was the temporary name for Hera, who inadvertantly healed Rosalyn of her cancer for a short time). Anyway, Ophiuchus or Asclepius both have relationships with serpants, The constellation Ophiuchus is known as The Snake Wrestler, while The symbol for Medicine in today's real world western society is the Staff of Asclepius (also the same symbol that one of Baltar's followers was holding in the form of an idol to Asclepius). Also in the writings of Pythia, sperpants are mentioned numerous times, They appeared to Roslyn, and were also described in an ancient battle where serpents 10 and 2 lead a successful attack against an enemy.
I was also interested to see Orion appear in the stars in that infamous cylon-on-cylon attack, what strikes me as interesting as well is that from Earth, Ophiuchus appears opposite Orion in the Sky. Is it not said somewhere that the fleet must pass through the Sign of the 13th tribe on their way to earth? Also its interesting that this "local space" area would be the sight of Starbuck's return from death.
My final intersting item is that The most important event in Ophiuchus' history was the Supernova of 1604, which was first observed on October 9, 1604. Strangely enough The fleet had just recently experienced a Supernova type situation at the temple of the 5, and noted that a similar supernova-like experience had happend many years ago. The supernova located in the Ophiuchus constellation is a mere 59 light years away from earth.
Anyway this all might be rambling and fit for deletion, but maybe someone else can glean some viable information out of my verbal spillage here.--Gallion 19:49, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
