Thanks for the offer and hospitality, Mr. Viper[edit]
Thank you so much for your words of welcome into this well put together website as well as the offer to display my artwork on a budding Battlestar Galactica fansite. I am flattered by your proposal and I would be happy to participate. I do not claim on being the best fan artist out there. I don't have graphic images or fancy computer programs. All I have is a sheet of paper, colored pencils, a scanner (which is momentarily broken), and a PowerPoint program to add additional information. Regardless, I will try my best to give BSG fans what they want. I would be honored to put my art on your site.
Thank you so much for the offer. So say we all (or maybe just me).

Definitely gallery format[edit]
Mr. Viper,
Regarding your suggestions on what format to use for the Fan Art gallery, I think it should definitely be in a gallery format. Being a long time user of Wikis everywhere, I always found it easier to visually see the picture than to continuously click on an article and read look at it to see what it's like. Please advise.

DeviantArt Notice[edit]
Dear Mr. Viper (I think that's going to be your new nickname if I may be so bold),
I will definitely spread the word to other BSG Deviants. The only reason I haven't been posting art is (this is humiliating) I forgot how to upload images.
Incompetently yours, Forestbender
You're gonna be happy with me, Mr. Viper[edit]
Dear Mr. Viper,
As you have told me, I have started to direct Deviants to BSP. I haven't just directed, I've downright recruited. I already have at least five incredibly gifted artists who have agreed to let us use their pictures. However, one of them asked if this is good for college credit. Is it? Please contact me ASAP.

Fan Art[edit]
Mr. Viper,
As I have told you, I have been getting permission from loads of Deviants to use their art on BSP. I've uploaded the images. but they have not been appearing in the Fan Art section. What am I doing wrong?

- You're doing everything right (as far as getting content is concerned). However, once the content is uploaded, it needs to be organized and presented, which is done in the actual wiki pages. For example, I added your first upload as the featured pic, by editing the fan art portal and putting a link to the image there. In the case of having multiple images, now is when we ought to consider setting up galleries for the respective artists. That's something that I can help do when the spare cycles arise, though at the moment my baby wrangling duties are occupying me. If you're interested in helping to set up the galleries, I'd be happy to help show you some examples of the gallery code here at Battlestar Wiki, and I'm sure Joe (or any other admin) would also be willing to help in my absence.
- Ideally, I think the vision would be to have the Deviants join BSP as well so that they could help manage their galleries, participate in featured content selection, help find and bring more art and artists in, and generally do the whole community thing. Keeping with general wiki paradigm, I think the "more the merrier" and "power to the people" principles definitely apply at BSP. -Steelviper 22:13, 8 March 2008 (CST)
