Ruins on Kobol, Thought to be the Tomb of Athena, as seen by Laura Roslin (credit: Sky One / Sci-Fi Channel)

Introduction

One of the Lords of Kobol, worshipped by modern-day Colonials.

Her exact function is unclear, however, her tomb is on Kobol (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I, Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II), which suggests that the Lords of Kobol may not be immortal, but can suffer death, either through natural causes, or due to accident or other event.

Athena's tomb is one of the keys to finding Earth, the other being the Arrow of Apollo, and Laura Roslin sends Lieutenant Kara "Starbuck" Thrace to Caprica against Adama's orders to retrieve the Arrow after the fleet comes across Kobol.

Notes

The favourite of Zeus’ offspring, a virgin goddess imbued with wisdom, reason, and purity.
