:I'm not entirely thrilled with it, but those ships can all be seen on-screen in background shots. We've actually used scifi as a (tentative) reference on occasion, particularly when they were still keeping track of Vipers back in season one. It can stay, with a little cleanup. --[[User:Peter Farago|Peter Farago]] 05:43, 7 December 2005 (EST) | :I'm not entirely thrilled with it, but those ships can all be seen on-screen in background shots. Galactica (TOS) and Pegasus (RDM) Comparison Images
I edited the images myself, the Pegasus was taken from a screenshot of the Pegasus (210) preview video at SciFi.com/battlestar, and the image of the Galactica was taken from BattlestarGalactica.com.
- Nice image, thanks a lot. Welcome to the Wiki. It's good to see new faces here. --Talos 21:58, 8 October 2005 (EDT)
Comments from Pegasus(RDM) designer
The comments I added to the notes section of the Mercury Class Battlestar page were from direct correspondence with Jose A. Perez. He has a great website and seems very enthusiastic about his work. http://www.fxstation.com/index.html
- Very nice. :-) Would it be possible to post snippets of the e-mail -- with Mr. Perez's permission, of course -- in this subpage? Thanks! -- Joe Beaudoin 21:48, 12 October 2005 (EDT)
- Well, with the exception of his greeting, I included all his text, in the same order as it originally appeared. I edited some punctuation but no more. :)
- I'll post my correspondence here for you to judge whether it requires its own page:

hello there...
The new design was somewhat of a cross between the look of the old class battlestars, and yet with elements of the new one..Aside from that, it has mostly hull plating (to absorb more damage) , as opposed to the Galactica which has more ribbing...
The harder edges were intentional as well, to match the interior style of the sets more.

Name: Greg Perkins Comments: Would you be able to comment on the design of the new Pegasus? Was the new design meant to resemble the original series' Galactica and Pegasus Battlestars?
I'm asking in order to make an update to the BSG Wiki: http://battlestarwiki.org/index.php?title=Mercury_class_battlestar
Thanks,

ZOIC interview
There's a new ZOIC interview over at battlestargalactica-online, which provides some more canonical information about the ship designs in Battlestar Galactica. Although, they refuse to confirm, directly, whether Serenity or a Constitution Class Enterprise appeared in the BSG miniseries
By your command,

- Very cool. Thanks for the heads up, Mason! -- Joe Beaudoin 08:24, 18 November 2005 (EST)
Non-Canonical scifi.com/battlestar Information
The recent RTF ship updates by Eyrezer have me puzzled. Are we not avoiding the use of scifi.com info for the site, because it has proven false in the past? --Mason 23:23, 6 December 2005 (EST)
