| == Sourcing for "SU" ==

| Hi, there. There's no official source I know of that points to "SU" as being "solar unit" or "stellar unit". Care to note your source? Since it's speculative either way, I just wanted you to chime in on your logic. --Spencerian 12:06, 29 October 2007 (CDT)

| Yeah, I wondered about that too. The most we could probably write is "speculated to stand for either 'solar unit' or 'stellar unit'". What 'Stellar unit' has going for it is, that - if one were to be anal about it - "solar" only refers to our own star system. For example there is only one "solar system". But in any case, it's a term that neither exists as such in real life, nor is it defined in BSG. It exists as a general term in that "parsec", "AU" or "light year" are all stellar units. --Serenity 12:15, 29 October 2007 (CDT)

| :How about Solaria then? The Colonials could very well call their sun "sol" as well (Tigh says something in the Miniseries about "end[ing] up in the middle of the sun"). --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:21, 29 October 2007 (CDT)

| ::True. There are enough parallels overall to ignore it here. I don't even really care when people call random star systems "solar systems", but some do :) --Serenity 12:28, 29 October 2007 (CDT)
