Naturally, I grew up watching the [[Battlestar Galactica (TOS)|original ''Battlestar Galactica'']] which often aired along the [[Sci Fi Channel]] and marathoned more so on [[w:S.C.I.F.I. World|S.C.I.F.I. World]]<ref>They also aired other shows as ''[[w:Sliders|Sliders]]'', ''[[w:Quantum Leap|Quantum Leap]]'' and ''[[w:Kolchak: The Night Stalker|Kolchak: The Night Stalker]]'' but this [[w:List of S.C.I.F.I. | I discovered ''[[w:Doctor Who|Doctor Who]]'' around 2002 when I first purchased a VHS copy of the [[w:Sixth Doctor|Sixth Doctor]] serial ''[[w:Attack of the Cybermen|Attack of the Cybermen]]''. I actually first stumbled upon ''Doctor Who'' through its [[w:Doctor Who spoofs#The Simpsons (1995-1996, 1998-1999, 2007)|several references]] made in ''[[w:The Simpsons|The Simpsons]]'' and I was immediately intrigued by the story. Since then, my affinity for the show has grown in a variety of ways as well as [[w:User:DoctorWho42/The Other stuff|my edits]] for the [[w:Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who|WikiProject Doctor Who]] (which is pretty much my only reason for edits there these days).
