The Colonies have a system of ordered liberty in which the government cannot overrule the freedom of the individual in matters of personal conscience. Women who oppose abortions cannot be forced to have them, and women who disagree are free to decide the issue for themselves. Take away privacy and freedom of choice, and the government has the power to mandate abortions, for example, to prevent over-population.
