This template should be modified to include multiple transcribers, and podcasts with multiple speakers. Does anyone know enough template syntax to do this, or know where I could go to learn it? --[[User: | This template should be modified to include multiple transcribers, and podcasts with multiple speakers. :What do you have in mind for multiple speakers? How many max transcribers? I might take a look at this tomorrow. (Most of what I've learned came from here, examples around here, or error and trial.) --Steelviper 20:05, 15 March 2006 (CST) | :What do you have in mind for multiple speakers? ::The most speakers we've had in any podcast was three (for Scar). At present the most transcribers we have on any episode is for Resurrection Ship, Part I (mainly because I am, as they say, "teh slow".) Multiple transcribers was a situation I had hoped to avoid, but it will probably continue to be an issue going into the future. --[[User: | ::The most speakers we've had in any podcast was three (for Scar). :::What would be different for the multiple speakers, though? Are you talking about changing the "message" part of the message box to include more than RDM's name? Sorry about cherry-picking that last act, but I saw it as an easy way to finish out an episode. --Steelviper 20:53, 15 March 2006 (CST) | :::What would be different for the multiple speakers, though? ::::Right now the template says "All contents are believed to be copyright by Ronald D. Moore"; but what I'd prefer to see is, (in the case of Scar, for example), "All contents are believed to be copyright by Ronald D. Moore, David Weddle, and Bradley Thompson". And you don't owe me an apology; wiki is a collaborative medium. --[[User: | ::::Right now the template says "All contents are believed to be copyright by Ronald D. ::::Is there any way to get the plural "s" to show up when emailauthor2 is defined, and disappear when it isn't? --[[User: | ::::Is there any way to get the plural "s" to show up when emailauthor2 is defined, and disappear when it isn't? --Peter Farago 09:45, 16 March 2006 (CST) | ||
:::::Picky, picky. Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. I'll see if I can figure out the conditional. As for the multiple copyrights, that will be SUPER easy. Just a matter of adding another parameter (and adding that parameter to all the existing podcasts... again.) I'll work on the conditional first, to see if it'll require an "all" change. I don't think it will, but I'd rather do it all in one (more) pass. --Steelviper 09:50, 16 March 2006 (CST) | :::::Picky, picky. Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. :::::Well, why do it clean when an ugly hack will suffice? I added another parameter to specify what follows transcriber. It will generally be left blank. It'll get "s" in the case where you fill out the emailAuthor2. Wikipedia's template help was pretty useless on the subject. --Steelviper 10:00, 16 March 2006 (CST) | :::::Well, why do it clean when an ugly hack will suffice? ::::::Well, the super easy wasn't as easy as I thought, as the parameters trim all leading and trailing whitespace passed in. If this could be reworded such that a space naturally follows RDM's name (regarding the copyright stuff), but the articles wouldn't change based on the number of copyright holders, then it wouldn't be as much of an issue. --Steelviper 10:22, 16 March 2006 (CST) | ::::::Well, the super easy wasn't as easy as I thought, as the parameters trim all leading and trailing whitespace passed in.
