A '''shard''' is a ''section of larger article'' that is presented individually for end-user clarity. These were previously redirects, but are better suited to be shown as individual articles, without having to directly copy and paste them as such. 

This allows articles to be "sliced" from the main one with ease.

A pertinent example of its use is to create shards focused on individual worlds that comprise the [[Twelve Colonies of Kobol]], as exemplified below.
