*Since the colony is in a close orbit with a black hole, how are the colonies biological components affected by the massive amount of radiation put out by it?
**Actually, the black hole itself doesn't put out any radiation (hence the name); what radiates brightly is it's accretion disk. HOWEVER, the accretion disk doesn't radiate all the time - only when it's matter is falling into and being accelerated by the black hole. The situation displayed could possibly be a stable accretion disk: it's matter being locked in a orbit around the black hole, but not falling into it. Seems logical to think so, as the ammount of material and gravitational stresses would be an effective protection to the colony.

*When the colony was shown in one scene in [[Daybreak, Part I]], it appeared to be anchored to an asteroid. What function does this serve?
**It could provide a stable orbit, or even raw materials to mine.

*Although the colony must have had obsolete technology and served no purpose but to be a storage facility for the final fives' lab, why was the colony moved at the beginning of the [[Cylon Civil War]]?
**Even though it has old Raiders, it is not necessarily obsolete; it is the Cylon's headquarters.
:The Twos, Sixes and non-Boomer Eights didn't know about it until Ellen told them, so it couldn't have been their headquarters when those models were activated. It's possible that the equipment is too bulky or fragile to move. Also, even if Cylon technology has advanced dramatically since the Colony was abandoned, they probably don't have any spare colossal FTL-capable structures lying around, the Colony's sheer bulk could make it more durable than a smaller structure made of superior materials, such as a Basestar, and constructing or growing a more defensible facility to relocate the equipment to could take a while. -- [[User:Gordon Ecker|Gordon Ecker]] 05:39, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

* Is "The Colony" the correct name? ** If it is really a colony, is it possibly founded or inhabited by people from [[Earth]]? Or descendants/incarnations of the [[Final Five]]? Or by copies of the [[Significant Seven]]? Or is it uninhabited?

Don't capitalize the "The" in "The Colony." It's poor English and puts unnecessary emphasis. On Battlestar Wiki, we capitalize "Colonies" when speaking of the [[The Twelve Colonies of Kobol]], but when we speak of a single world, we use "colony." To distinguish the Cylon structure, capitalizing the "C" is suitable.

Please also ready the [[BW:SAC|standards and conventions]]. "Basestar" can be used, but "baseship" is the common term used in the Re-imagined Series. -::It doesn't make much sense to me that the other six models wouldn't have known about the Colony after the Cavils took out the Final Five. I mean, where else would all those millions of each model live? I'd prefer to interpret Cavil's line as that the other models didn't know that there was Resurrection equipment there (like the Final Five's original ship), and not that they didn't know about it period. It also makes more sense as a reason to move the Colony at the beginning of the Civil War. If the Cavil faction could maintain unchallenged control of the Cylon Homeworld and the Resurrection Hub, they would've had a massive advantage over the Rebels. Otherwise, they just moved it on the off-chance the rebels would succeed in contacting the Final Five, the Final Fives' memories would somehow be restored, and the lot of them would decide that there was some reason to go to the Colony (which they wouldn't have had until they destroyed the Hub and Cavil fell back to the Colony to reinvent resurrection). -- [[User:David cgc|David cgc]] 17:33, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
