I'm interested in buying it. Is the theme from Adama's atmo hyperjump when invading New Caprica available? It's pretty much the only reason why I would get this soundtrack. {{unsigned|Lork}}
:Its highly likely, its an important piece of music in the show much like how i felt when I first heard [[Soundtrack (Season 2)#Track_Listing|''Pegasus (2:46)'']] in the episode where we first see [[Pegasus (RDM)|it]]. :The soundtrack really has a lot of other great stuff besides that track and the way, way overrated "All Along the Watchtower". "Admiral and Commander" (the Adama goodbye from "Exodus, Part I) for example has a nice guitar part in the middle that's not on TV. "A Distant Sadness" (opening of "Occupation"), "Refugees Return", "Violence and Variations", "Adama Falls", "Battlestar Sonatica", "Kat's Sacrifice", "Temple of Five" and "Gentle Execution" are top tracks too. ::I love "Admiral and Commander", that's my favorite track on the cd, especially since it incorporates my favorite melody, all the way back to "A Good Lighter" in the Season One OST. "Adama Falls" and "The Dance" from Unfinished Business were good too. It seems with each successive album, I enjoy more and more of it. :Thanks for the swift replies! I just had a chatter with a friend of mine over icq and recently, he let me listened to that Storming Caprica music over teamspeak2. Hmm... First off, that track does indeed have the theme, but the end of it sort of "branches" off. It's not like the scene when the galactica emerges from hyperspace/from the hyperjump. Using audacity, I recorded it and compared it with the clip at youtube - They differ from each other :( I asked my buddy to check further, but just by skimming that track, he said there were none of the themes alike the youtube clip! :( Following the icq chat, he said around and between 2:09 and 2:28 is where the different theme is heard. Not going to stop me from getting the soundtrack, but I'm a bit disappointed that it sounds different... or is this theme heard in previous soundtracks?! ::Nothing new there. That happened earlier as well with some tracks. They don't simply take the music from TV and put them on CD. Some things are re-recorded, or sometimes they were cut down for TV in the first place, thus making the CD version the original one. Usually that's for the better; for example the full version of "Black Market" or the addition to "Admiral and Commander". The only time I was really annoyed was the added guitars to "Lords of Kobol" because they change the whole tempo and feel of the track. "Storming New Caprica" is really similar enough that I don't care.

Soundtrack includes a new interpretation of the classic "All Along The Watchtower"

(October 8, 2007- [[w:Burbank|Burbank, CA]]) - The soundtrack from the standout [[Season 3 (2006-07)|third season]] of the [[SciFi Channel]]'s critically acclaimed television series, ''[[Battlestar Galactica (RDM)|Battlestar Galactica]]'', will be released by [[La-La Land Records]] on October 23, 2007.  Composer [[Bear McCreary]], who scored the [[Season 1 (2004-05)|first]] and [[season 2 (2005-06)|second]] seasons of the show, composed the score for the third season as well.  In addition to McCreary's score, the album also features McCreary's new interpretation of the classic [[w:Bob Dylan|Bob Dylan]] song, "[[w:All Along the Watchtower|All Along the Watchtower]]," whose themes featured prominently in [[Crossroads, Part I|several]] [[Crossroads, Part II|episodes]] and in McCreary's score.

Considered one of the top 10 shows currently on TV by ''[[w:Time Magazine|Time Magazine]]'', ''[[w:Entertainment Weekly|Entertainment Weekly]]'', and ''[[w:TV Guide|TV Guide]]'', ''Battlestar Galactica'' also won the prestigious [[Awards and Honors#Peabody Award|Peabody Award]] in 2005.

The television series stars [[Edward James Olmos]], [[Mary McDonnell]], [[James Callis]], [[Tricia Helfer]] and [[Katee Sackhoff]].  The third season began by launching the characters' lives a year ahead of the second season finale. As it the action unfolded, viewers discovered how each of the backstories evolved over the past year. All the while, more light was shed on the inner workings of the mysterious [[Cylons (RDM)|Cylons]].

Towards the end of the season, a [[The Music|familiar musical theme]] was heard.  By the final episodes it all became evident, these melodies were part of what would be a total re-imagination of the 1967 Bob Dylan classic "All Along the Watchtower," performed by [[BT4]] and featuring former [[w:Oingo Boingo|Oingo Boingo]] musicians [[w:John Avila|John Avila]] on bass and [[Steve Bartek]] on guitar.

"It was a daring idea by [[Ron Moore]], and at first I thought he was crazy," confessed McCreary.  "It's a classic song that was completely redefined by [[w:Jimi Hendrix|Jimi Hendrix]].  But, Ron told me to make it my own and gave me total creative freedom to re-invent this song for ''Battlestar Galactica''.  And when the episode came together, I knew it was the right choice."

The song's lyrics, including "There must be some way out of here / Said the joker to the thief / There's too much confusion / I can't get no relief," perfectly reflect what the human race is going through in their battle with the Cylons through the series.  Both the song and the show raise questions about the very nature of humanity and our struggle to survive against what holds us captive.

In addition to the new performance of the song, the soundtrack album features the original score that McCreary wrote for the season.  "The show is evolving," describes McCreary.  "And the music is evolving as well.  It is head and shoulders above anything that I've done before."

Bear McCreary's feature film credits include ''[[w:Wrong Turn 2|Wrong Turn 2]]'' and ''[[w:Rest Stop|Rest Stop]]''.  He also scores the hit series ''[[ew:Eureka|Eureka]]'' for Sci Fi Channel and the upcoming ''[[w:Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles|Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles]]'' for [[w:Fox Network|Fox]]. McCreary was among a handful of select protégés of late film music legend [[w:Elmer Bernstein|Elmer Bernstein]] ([[w:The Magnificent Seven|THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN]]) and is a classically trained composer with degrees in Composition and Recording Arts from the prestigious [[w:University of South Carolina|USC Thornton School of Music]].
