I'm sure we'll get a little more info by the episode, "[[Maelstrom]]", however, this name hasn't an aired source and may not be correct or be changed by airing, if the character is seen at all. Therefore I'm marking this for deletion until we confirm the source so we can keep track of this. And they can and have changed stuff at the very last minute, so I take nothing as canon until it airs. :These promo pics are always very interesting. The patch on the bed of Socrata (see, I said it) shows "Caprica City Police". Kara is also shown back at her old apartment on Caprica (implying that she goes or is taken there), and her mandala of the Eye of Jupiter appears in both shots. == Her rank ==

The letter she receives lists her as Corporal. That's a pretty low rank and seems to indicate that she retired right after the war, possibly being drafted. In the podcast, RDM says that the plans were for her to be a Sergeant Major; meaning career military for 20 years or so. I have the feeling that this also fits better to her whole character. ::::Well, while it may have been a typo/mistake of the art department or whoever, remember that [http://www.militaryconnection.com/charts.asp the basic pay chart] slides across up to 26 odd years for ALL the ranks. While in this era of "right-sizing" forces there is something of an "up or out" mentality that keeps the lower ranks younger (this is especially true of the officer ranks, where I'm vaguely aware of specific limits to the number of times you can be "passed over" for promotion before being forced to pack it in), it's entirely possible to retire from the military with a low rank... especially given a draft scenario. If you watch some of the background "behind the scenes" interviews with the guys that inspired "Band of Brothers", a lot of the guys that made it all the way from D-Day to the end of the war in Europe and left the service as privates. The military needs sharp people at ALL levels, and if all the good people were general officers everything would fall apart (because you'd have nobody to work the motorpool and keep those jeeps with stars on them up and running). --[[User:Steelviper|Steelviper]] 09:01, 6 March 2007 (CST)

-:Yeah it sounds like Medra. I've removed the "jungle planet" part, though it was probably me who wrote that. It's a common SciFi cliché that many planets have a uniform climate, but scientifically a more even distribution like on Earth is more likely. -The problem is that her letter from the Veteran's Hospital (which informs her about her cancer) states her rank as corporal. Is there a source for the "sergeant-major" rank other than Kara's comment in [[Razor]]? If not, I suggest her rank be changed to corporal, and that  Kara's comment  be treated as a sarcastic  remark about her mother's failed aspiration to reach the rank of  sergeant-major.
