| == Jungle planet ==
| |
|
| |
| Does anyone remember what was the name of the jungle planet Socrata Thrace was stationed on during the first Cylon War? Kara mentioned it in "Maelstrom" -- was it Medra, Medihra or something like that? -- Spike 19:33, 8 April 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :I'm not entirely sure but I think she said it was the jungles of Aerelon. --Kahran 22:33, 8 April 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :Yeah it sounds like Medra. I've removed the "jungle planet" part, though it was probably me who wrote that. It's a common SciFi cliché that many planets have a uniform climate, but scientifically a more even distribution like on Earth is more likely. It could just mean that she was stationed in a region with jungles. --Serenity 09:12, 9 April 2007 (CDT)

| == rank revisited ==
| |
|
| |
| My "Razor" DVD is still making its way across the pond, but I saw this in the noteworthy dialogue section:
| |
|
| |
| :Thrace: Hope for the best, plan for the worst, as my mom the sergeant-major used to say.
| |
|
| |
| I'm glad that was clarified. It fits with the writers' comments and just makes more sense in the story. Socrata Thrace seems very much like a career soldier to me. Anyways, we should change all references to her rank accordingly. --Serenity 02:15, 6 December 2007 (CST)

| The problem is that her letter from the Veteran's Hospital (which informs her about her cancer) states her rank as corporal. Is there a source for the "sergeant-major" rank other than Kara's comment in Razor? If not, I suggest her rank be changed to corporal, and that Kara's comment be treated as a sarcastic remark about her mother's failed aspiration to reach the rank of sergeant-major.
