I don't doubt that Anders means "man", but doesn't Anderson < Andrew's Son? Whether Andrew < Ander is another matter, but I thought this worth mentioning. Is this being too nitpickey? --Day 00:34, 28 December 2005 (EST)

:Andrew and Anders both come from the greek word Andros which means "man." According to what I've read, Anders (the first name anyway) is the Scandinavian form of Andrew. Andros is where we get things like Alexander (Defender of Man) and Android (robot in form of man). So, they both mean the same thing anyway. --Talos 00:42, 28 December 2005 (EST)

::What's really coincidental is that I used to have a pet salamander by this name (a pun on "salamander"; there were worse ones, like Sir Isaac Newt, Silly Amanda, Newt York, Olivia Newt John, Fig Newt, etc. - I had about 20 of them, and they all had names like this, with Samuel Anders and Sal M. Anderson being pretty much the only plausible-sounding ones). Anyway, I totally cracked up when I heard this character's name. Every time I see him I think of a wiggly amphibian. — <b><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">SMcCandlish</span></b> &#91;talk&#93; &#91;cont&#93;  <b>‹(-¿-)›</b> 10:04, 8 February 2008 (CST)

Perhaps it should be changed to one of Anders in uniform, now that he's joined the service? -- Noneofyourbusiness 10:28, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
: Agreed. Particularly since the picture's a bit fuzzy. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 11:10, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
:: I would go about finding a picture and making it the right size and putting it on Battlestar Wiki myself, but I have no idea how to do that. -- Noneofyourbusiness 11:51, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
::: I, or someone else, could pull the picture from one of the later episodes. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 12:04, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
:::: Thank you. -- Noneofyourbusiness 16:18, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
The lighting of the new one could be better. It's hard to see his eyes. -- Noneofyourbusiness 18:37, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
: Yeah, I definitely agree with you. However, the best screencap I could find was the one where Anders didn't have his shirt on (during his makeout session with Tory in the pilot's bunk). Otherwise, everything with a uniform is either in the darkness of the Big G, or in extreme close ups that, while show his eyes, don't show that he's got a uniform. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 18:51, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
:: So no one's made any screenshots where he's in the relatively well-lit hangar deck (pre-blackout) and the closeup isn't extreme. Darn. -- Noneofyourbusiness 19:49, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
::: Problem is that most of the shots in the hangar bay were of side profiles, or were "over shoulder" or obfuscated due to the presence of people and the like. I think the best chance would be in Crossroads, Part I, in Joe's Bar, but since I don't have that episode, I wouldn't be able to capture anything. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 20:18, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
:::: I see. It would be very helpful of someone who has that episode, and knows how to make screen captures, to do so. -- Noneofyourbusiness 22:05, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
Hybrid Pic
Now that Anders has been plugged into Galactica, should we get a picture of him in his "hybrid form?" -Federationrulz 13:59, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
:Only if we can get a pic of him in the bathtub as well. -- Noneofyourbusiness 14:27, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
