I don't doubt that Anders means "man", but doesn't Anderson < Andrew's Son? Whether Andrew < Ander is another matter, but I thought this worth mentioning. Is this being too nitpickey? --[[User:Day|Day]] 00:34, 28 December 2005 (EST) | I don't doubt that Anders means "man", but doesn't Anderson < Andrew's Son? :Andrew and Anders both come from the greek word ''Andros'' which means "man." According to what I've read, Anders (the first name anyway) is the Scandinavian form of Andrew. Andros is where we get things like Alexander (Defender of Man) and Android (robot in form of man). So, they both mean the same thing anyway. --[[User:Talos|Talos]] 00:42, 28 December 2005 (EST) | :Andrew and Anders both come from the greek word ''Andros'' which means "man."
