| :It seems that a Northern English/Irish/Scottish accent is typically aerelon, as opposed to an American accent used throughout the other colonies. Baltar's native tongue is definitely attempting to be Northern England (compare with Christopher Eccleston's Dr Who) with a hint of Irish; and this guy's doing a similar accent. | ::::There is certainly a "standard" American accent you'll hear on most mainstream television shows, but you'll be able to find distinct regional accents there too. Just as there is no British accent as such. Many people think that's the stereotypical received pronunciation, but hardly anyone talks like that.
