Generally "Heavy," when used in reference to an aircraft in the real world, means the ship is carrying cargo or passengers and wouldn't be part of the true name. Therefore Colonial One's original name would simply have been "Colonial 798." This is made even more clear when you consider where the transport's name is first heard: a radio transmission between its pilot and (I believe) Galactica, which is exactly the time when such jargon would be used. Pint

:"Colonial Heavy 798" would be a call sign or flight number, not a hull number. In the real world, the "Heavy" designation is used by air traffic controllers for large craft, such as the executive 747s that Colonial One is based on. ::April, you are correct.  Further, the designation of "heavy" is applied when an aicraft is over a certain weight, regardless of whether it is laden with passengers or cargo.  The usage is important to remind controllers to allow extra separation between "heavy" aircraft and other aircraft following, because heavy aircraft generate increased wake turbulence, a significant danger to following aircraft.  (There may be other reasons for using the "heavy" designation.) The current article notes that Colonial One is capable of carrying something Viper-sized; however, the Miniseries definitely shows Boomer's Raptor aboard after its departure from Caprica, presumably in addition to Viper 7242. As such, should this section be rewritten to note that Colonial Ones cargo bay is far larger than a mere Viper berth? --Hyperdistortion 19:13, 12 August 2006 (CDT)

:It doesn't say "just one viper" but capable. We can re-word it for sure. :) --Shane (T - C - E) 19:17, 12 August 2006 (CDT)
Exterior Markings?
It has already been stated that the exterior design was made intentionally similar to the "Air Force One" design.  There is some lettering near the front of the ship. Two words that are fairly easy to read are "Luxury Liner" (or "Liners").  There are some other words that I have never been able to make out.  The name of the owner of the ship, perhaps, from which it was chartered by the Colonial government? Knowing this may add to the backstory of the ship. Esjones 12:12, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
:You probably mean Intersun, the company that owned the ship. --Serenity 12:20, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
