As I set about to my little Aerilon->Aerelon crusade, I ran into this one and it stopped me.  I verified the quote against the blog and noted that this article did quote him accurately.  Is this just a typo on his part (that should be left alone, as that is how the source is)?  I'll leave it alone for now. --Steelviper 15:45, 6 December 2005 (EST)

:Well, since we're quoting him, the most we should do is put a [sic] after the spelling. It does give me pause though - have we seen this name spelled out on screen? --April Arcus 06:16, 7 December 2005 (EST)

::I had the same thought.  I've not seen it on screen.  However, on Scifi.com's ships page, it says that the Celestra is of "Aerilon registry".  I know that's not canon, but that's two for two on references that spell it that way (granted both are hosted on scifi.com).  Hopefully somebody can come up with a concrete canonical source (one way or the other). --Steelviper 10:05, 7 December 2005 (EST)

It totally makes sense that this quote would be a reference to some shitty american movie and has nothing to do with the Ode of Remembrance or practically every war memorial service held throughout the British Commonwealth. Is this Ronald Moore quote from a podcast or something? --KLEBESTIFT  16:14, 12 May 2007 (somewhereST)

:The quote is from the season 1 DVD commentary for the episode. And yes, despite the UK getting top honors in playing season 1 of the series before the US viewers would see it, Battlestar Galactica is an American property written with the perspective of American writers, not the British. For that perspective, us Yankees enjoy the writing of Doctor Who. Keep in mind that Battlestar's production (from not only the current series but a failed 2001 Original Series continuation) were directly influenced by the September 11 2001 terrorist attacks in New York. The events of that incident shut down and eventally cancelled the continuation, and the mood of the attack was recreated in the Re-imagined Series. Sorry, but Battlestar is flavored with American perspective. --Spencerian 18:46, 11 May 2007 (CDT)
