'''Sectar''' is a planet in the [[Zeta Quadrant]] of {{TOS|Cyrannus}}. It is home to the native [[Borays]], as well as a small [[agro]] colony of humans, settling in the town of [[Serenity]]. As with other far-flung settlements, it was cut off from [[Twelve Colonies of Man|the Colonies]] sometime during the [[Thousand-Yahren War]].

In more recent history, the Borays began raiding Serenity for food, supplies, and women when Sectar's orbiting satellite became fully visible in the night sky. 

{{TOS|Adama}} leads a mission to this planet hoping to trade an unmarked [[energizer]] in exchange for some agron seed, after two of the three [[Agro Ship|agro ships]] in {{TOS|the Fleet}} are [[Battle for the Agricultural Ships (TOS)|destroyed during a Cylon attack]] {{OS|The Magnificent Warriors}}.

: Sectar is a remote planet in the [[Hatari sector|Hatari sector]] dotted with fewer than twenty small human settlements. Large [[Ovines|Ovine]] ranches once exported large quantities of meat to the Colonies; orbiting freighters loaded up from small shuttles and froze their cargos by exposure to the chill of space for the long journey home. Today the [[Oviner|Oviners]] raise small herds for subsistence that provide them with milk products and clothing as well as meat. Cut off from Colonial civilization, technology on Sectar has reverted to a primitive level. Its population is largely defenseless; their most powerful weapons are simple [[Number Eight|Numo]] guns. Sectar would be an easy prey for any hostile, advanced race.
