The '''Landing Signal Officer''' (LSO) is the officer who is responsible for all flight operations on the [[flight pod]]s of [[battlestar (RDM)|battlestar]]s and other military vessels. This includes the landing of all vessels, from [[Viper (RDM)|Vipers]] and [[Raptor|Raptors]] to small liners such as ''[[Colonial One]]'' ([[Miniseries]], [[Final Cut]]).

On battlestar ''[[Galactica]]'', the LSO was [[Aaron Kelly|Captain Aaron Kelly]] ([[Miniseries]], [[Final Cut]]). He used his position to wage a bombing campaign which resulted in the death of [[Alan Hughes|Baltar's first lawyer]] ([[The Son also Rises]]) and nearly killed [[Romo Lampkin|the second]]. Kelly's replacement in the postion has not yet been featured.
