An egg was fertilized with Conoy's genetic material and was implanted in a human woman, who carried it to term; the surrogate mother died in childbirth, but Kacey survived.

Prior to revealing the child's existance to Thrace, Conoy holds her in a secured "apartment" on [[New Caprica]] ([[Occupation]]). When the child is introduced, Thrace is understandably uneasy around the child, but appears to show genuine concern when Kacey has an accident and requires medical attention ([[Precipice]]). When [[Samuel Anders]] frees Thrace from her prison during ''Galactica'''s rescue attempt, Thrace goes back to make sure Kacey escapes ([[Exodus, Part II]]).
