On a lot of shows, you actually finish one episode before you start breaking the next one and you end up with disconnects. On this show, because a lot of stuff is being written all at once and are in progress at the same time, they can be adjusted so you end up with that wonderful sense of things paying off and feeling surprising, but inevitable. You really get it because the episodes are considered chapters in a novel.
