An extremely agitated and '''desperate man'''<ref>{{bsgwiki term}}</ref> tries to rush the [[Raptor]] of [[Karl Agathon|"Helo" Agathon]] and [[Sharon Valerii|Boomer]] in an attempt to board the ship to escape the bombing of [[Caprica (RDM)|Caprica]].

The man is part of a large mob of people in the rural outskirts outside the cities of Caprica who are running away from the blasts. The mob heads for the Raptor after seeing it land. The mob includes a [[Lady with glasses|old forgetful woman]], [[Giana|a woman with a missing husband in the Colonial Fleet]], and [[Gaius Baltar]].

The man questions Valerii's right to choose the last three people who can board the ship to escape the planet. Valerii solves the problem by initiating a lottery.

Unfortunately, the man's number is not picked. Increasingly desperate, the man jumps atop the Raptor as it flies away, trying to get inside.

Helo is forced to shoot the man after warnings to get off the ship. The severe trauma caused by the gunshot likely kills the man ([[Miniseries, Night 1]]).
