Editing Colonial battles chronology (1980)

This is a chronological list of battles in ''[[Galactica 1980]]''. Exact dates are noted in Earth time and are based off the Fleet's arrival in the year 1980 [[w:Common Era|CE]]. 

This timeline follows the implication given in ''1980'' that Colonial time units and Earth time units are exact, interchangeable analogues; e.g., 1980 CE is the year 7378 on the Colonial calendar. See [[Timeline (1980)]] for additional details.

Also, given that Starbuck is later abandoned on [[Planet Starbuck]] in "[[The Return of Starbuck]]," which transpires roughly 10 years before reaching Earth, it would have had to occur between late 1969 to 1970 CE. As radio waves travel [[w:Electromagnetic_radiation#Speed_of_propagation|at the speed of light in space]], ''Galactica'' would have to be very close to Earth—well under or around one-light year away.
