::I have a few questions. Blogs are generally designed for one or two users to enter--it's a journal. It also tends to express a specific voice and is topic-driven, not a chatting board. Aside from mop duty, admins haven't any bigger voice than other contributors. So, if an entry is placed, who places it, and why? How do we control who posts the topic? Are entries generally based on show events, internal wiki topics, or politics? Assuming there is a message response area, who moderates the messages, deleting those that are offtopic or inappropriate? There's a lot of work here, and we really need to define it beyond its good intentions. --Spencerian 08:20, 26 September 2006 (CDT)

Comments on a blog
I think that if this is going to go ahead we really need to start working on it ASAP. It seems that recently a lot of blogs and forums have been popping up in the run up to Season 3, now while most of those are pretty rubbish with little content on freehosts there are a few that are getting quite a lot of comments which means people are regularly going back to them. I feel that a blog will be a good entrance for people to the wiki. All wiki related discussions will continue to be done right here and the blog will be purely for reviews, speculation, links etc. I have compiled a list of some or the more popular blogs that maybe we can borrow/steal/pillage ideas from --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 12:08, 10 October 2006 (CDT)

The other day I also purchased the domain names www.battlestarforum.com .net & .org. I dont really have any plans for it yet but its a good domain name to have to atm it just directs people to the Wiki. Perhaps people typing that url in or searching might come accross the wiki because of it.
I was also wondering, if this goes ahead, would the blog use a system such as blogger.com (you can still have it work at your own url) or actually run it completely independant on the wiki server. Also would it be as a subdomain blog.battlestarwiki.org or a completely new url such as www.battlestarblog.com (i know that url is already taken) to differentiate from the Wiki? There is a clear difference between wiki and the blog so people dont start talking about stuff that should be done in talk pages for example? --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 04:51, 12 October 2006 (CDT)
