Darth Tytis, great idea. We are developing a system for that. It's going to be done via AJAX. Already ahead of ya, but good idea! We will be hopfully starting the coding for it next tuesday. :Like Shane said, its being looked into... Ive got some great ideas about an actual design for the thing and Shane is looking into how it would be coded. It would be made absolutely clear that the rating is done by users of the wiki and not a rating/review of the episode sactioned by the Wiki itself. If people want to "bitch and whine" then thats the place of a forum, like Serenity said. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 06:05, 15 February 2007 (CST)

::Neutral Potentially this could be implemented at a forum as well. Then Battlewiki could choose whether or not the rating was a piece of information significant enough to report, and there'd be the honest separation of "if you don't like this rating, go argue it at the forum where they came up with it". Or we could not display the rating at all. I'm not sure where I stand on the issue presently, but I thought I'd throw another possibility in. --Steelviper 06:44, 15 February 2007 (CST)
:::If the Battlestar Wiki had a forum then it would probably be the perfect place for this. You could have a thread for each episode and a poll to vote. It would be interesting to have the result mirrored on the wiki though, with a link for people to discuss their own thoughts and feelings on a forum. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 06:46, 15 February 2007 (CST)
:::I really like the idea of adding spangly features to the wiki though, to really make it look unique so we are seen as a leader in the wiki field and not just seen as jumping on the MemoryAlpha/Wookiepedia bandwagon and copying them. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 06:49, 15 February 2007 (CST)

Just a rating might be acceptable, but under no circumstances should we have comments about the episodes --Serenity 05:38, 15 February 2007 (CST)

: I am firmly against this, as we are a reference. Having "ratings" (a la Lurker's Guide) deters from this. So, oppose. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 07:50, 15 February 2007 (CST)
::I concur with Joe and had the same reaction to the concept before I read his comments. Battlestar Wiki is a reference, and we have strived to keep a NPOV in episode articles and supporting articles. While, for fun, this could be done as a separate article in a portal, we would have to go through great pains to moderate it. That violates our policy that the wiki is not a chat forum. As well, I oppose. --Spencerian 08:15, 15 February 2007 (CST)
:: I oppose for the reasons mentioned above. I do like to find out how people regard a certain episode, maybe we could implement ratings on the talk pages? --Catrope 09:40, 15 February 2007 (CST)
:::But there are over a dozen forums where you can see people rating episodes. I just don't see why this needs to be done here as well --Serenity 09:42, 15 February 2007 (CST)
::I oppose as well, this is an objective resource, not a place for that kind of thing. --Talos 09:45, 15 February 2007 (CST)
