Editing Battlestar Wiki:Think Tank/Errors Policy

This is the overview. Basically, a ''summary'' of what the idea is about. You can get into the details later on.

A policy to guide what constitues a [[Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29]], Produciton errors, [[Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29#Retcons|Retcons]], [[Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29#Danglers|Dangling plot lines]], [[Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29#VFX_Gaffes|VFX Gaffes]] and [[Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29#Dialogue_Errors|Dialogue Errors]] in Battlestar Galactica while  [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Assume good faith|assuming good faith]] on the part of the writers, without resorting to [[Wikipedia:Fanwank|fanwanking]].  This policy would be linked to from the various (small number of) error pages.

[[User:Eghm]] is willing to take point on this, but given the nature of [[Wikipedia:Suspension_of_disbelief|suspending disbelief]] others contributions are welcome.  [[Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29]] list some things given various levels of [[Talk:Continuity_errors_%28RDM%29#Suspending_Disbelief|suspending disbelief]] that not all wiki users agree are errors. 

Production errors - things which involve the production of the show such as the reflection of crane raising the raptor in the Miniseries after Helo shots the civilian climbing on the wing of the raptor on Caprica, seeing off set, etc.

Continuity errors - see [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Continuity_(fiction)#Continuity_errors|continuity errors]] Dees headset changing sides, shells in the container start out scattered within the box, but as the camera cuts back and forth in the scene the shells switch from organized to scattered many times.  This would be a good place to link in some of the continuity stuff RDM talks about in his podcast so the wiki's concept of continuity is in line with the continuity goals of the show. Dialog errors - things said which do not belong to the BSG universe (Jesus, world famous, etc.)

Retcons - same as Acknowledged Mistakes.
