In order to nominate yourself or another editor for adminship, you must first create an RfA subpage for the nominee, which will be done automatically when you follow the instructions in the appropriate section below.

Once this RfA subpage has been created, the nominator must explain on the RfA subpage why this nominee would make a good administrator, and the nominee must accept the nomination on the RfA subpage ''before'' it can be transcluded to the main RfA page. This prevents editors from voting against candidates simply because they have not accepted the nomination or answered the questions. It also prevents both nominees and nominators from being embarrassed when a nomination is declined.

Finally, once the nomination has been accepted and the questions answered, any editor (including the nominator or the nominee) can link it to the RfA page. This is done by simply by following the "edit this page" link in the appropriate section below and adding the template provided at the bottom of this page (with the nominee's name substituted for USERNAME) to the RfA page. Ideally, the nominee should do this, as the nominee will be the first to know when the questions have been answered to his or her satisfaction.
