| ==History==
| | Barnabas Greeley is the leader of a radical Soldiers of the One cell on Caprica committed to violent action. Working out of a dockside warehouse, Greeley guides his cell in both operational and spiritual matters. His own belief in a singular God revolves in part around pain as a pathway to clear thinking (CAP: "Know Thy Enemy"). |
| Greeley's personal belief in a singular God revolves around pain as a pathway to clearer thinking, to that end, Greeley practices self flagellation Know Thy Enemy. | |

| ===The Package===
| | According to Keon Gatwick, Greeley is the only member of the Soldiers of the One who can provide STO's support to Lacy Rand's endeavor of delivering Zoe Graystone's "package" to Gemenon (CAP: "Gravedancing"). Initially, Greeley rejects Lacy's request for help, but asks Keon to continue watching her and to gather more information (CAP: "Know Thy Enemy"). He is often opposed to Clarice Willow and her cell to such an extent that he attempts to build his power beyond hers, and after a confrontation with Willow over a weapons shipment turns violent, Greeley finds a use for Lacy's services. Greeley agrees to ship her package, and later asks her to change the fob and Clarice's key ring. He later reveals that he and Gatwick had been planning to assassinate Willow, and that the fob was a trigger for a hidden explosive. When Lacy tries to back out, Greeley threatens to kill her and Gatwick. Lacy sets off the bomb, but Willow unwittingly manages to escape (CAP: "End of Line"). |
| Working out of a dockside warehouse in Caprica City, Greeley guides his cell in both the planning and carrying out of terror attacks, as well as in prayer groups. Though she never takes an active role in his cell, Zoe Graystone is a member of Greeley's circle and has, in some way, made him aware of her "important" project. Active members in Greeley's cell include former students of Clarice Willow, Pann, Hippolyta, Ben Stark, Keon Gatwick and, later, Lacy Rand.

|
| Lacy Rand comes to Greeley by way of Keon Gatwick, who believes Greeley is the only member of the Soldiers of the One who can support Lacy's endeavor of delivering Zoe Graystone's" package" to Gemenon. Though it takes some convincing, Greeley agrees to help Rand and secures a cargo container that would clear customs. In return, Greeley persuades Rand to plant a tracking device on Clarice Willow, though, in reality, the device is linked to a sophisticated bomb hidden in Willow's trunk Gravedancing.

| ===Conflict with Clarice=== | | <div style="font-size:85%"><references/></div> |
| Greeley's more active and violent methodology chaffs against that of the more subdued Clarice Willow. Labeling her notion of Apotheosis "some crazy plan that make you into a bouncer in some homemade heaven," Greeley gathers weapons and slowly builds a power base, undermining Willow's efforts to lie low. Intercepting a shipment of weapons intended for Barnabas, Willow threatens Greeley at gunpoint, ordering him to toe the line. Greeley does the exact opposite, using the bomb created by Keon Gatwick in an attempt at killing Willow as she travels to Gemenon End of Line.
| |
|
| |
|
| Returning from Gemenon with the full support of the Monotheist Church and power over the Caprican STO cells, Willow immediately begins murdering the members of Barnabas' cell who had tried to kill her, with one exception. Trapping Greeley in a highrise construction site, Willow handcuffs Barnabas to a bomb and then remotely detonates it Retribution.

| == Behind the Scenes ==

| | |
| James Marsters, who previously worked with Caprica<nowiki/>'s first showrunner Jane Espenson on Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Spike, portrays Barnabas Greeley throughout his appearances in Caprica. The character's death scene was filmed in a highrise construction site set, with its visual extension created by visual effects artist Farrah Welch. Known as "Barnabus' Lair," the set extension involved comprehensive modeling, texturing, and lighting work completed in April 2010.

| Welch created "an unfinished office building" for the set digitally and provided lighting for both daytime rainy scenes and nighttime sequences. The nighttime lighting included dramatic lightning effects from outside the building, adding atmospheric tension to Greeley's final confrontation with Clarice Willow.
