Athena is the only daughter of Ila and Adama, and officer aboard the battlestar Galactica.
Boxey is the son of Serina who survives the Cylon Holocaust.

Early Life
During the battle of Umbra in 7322, Athena and Apollo are ferried with their pregnant mother, Ila, to battlestar Rylon — where Captain Adama is stationed (starbuck).

In 7328, living in relative luxury in Caprica, Athena pursues a career in the Warrior with the aim of outranking her brother, Apollo. During this time, they encounter Starbuck who re-enters Adama's life when asking for sponsorship of his application to the Colonial military academy. Despite a rough start, Apollo and Starbuck become friends, and Starbuck becomes smitten with Athena (starbuck).

Assignment to Galactica
Entering the Academy, Athena becomes proficient in computer technology, and is assigned to Galactica under her father's command in 7346. After Starbuck is framed for the death of Kandi Trieste by Councilor Osiris's daughter and aide, Diana, Athena uncovers footage from Erin Dream casino that would have proven Starbuck's innocence. Diana subsequently thwarts and captures Athena (aware of Athena's abilities, for she was enrolled at the Academy during the same time period that Athena had been), and absconds with her to the ice moon of Thrace to be held as collateral to prevent Adama from acting against her father's interests (starbuck—).

Athena frees herself from her cell on the old tylium mine, sparring with Diana and nearly killing her, were it not for Apollo's intervention and their subsequent escape from the mine before its destruction by its own overloading reactor (starbuck).

Fleeing the Cylon Tyranny
During his early years in the Fleet, Boxey resides aboard Galactica with his step-father, Apollo, following the death of his mother.

Second Lieutenant Athena often handles Officer of the Watch during red shift, notably during the discovery of a quantum storm zone while Colonel Tigh leads a repair team on the old luxury liner Ariadna (vol2).
En route to Earth, Boxey becomes one of the many denizens of the Fleet to share in the dream of Earth, projected by delta-class telepath Xam as they traverse an unnamed storm zone. This concerns both Apollo and Boxey's step-aunt, Athena (vol2—).

She often trades barbs with Starbuck, which Adama diffuses with patriarchal aplomb (vol2).
After the events of Adama's Gambit, Boxey resumes attempting to find a place to play aboard Galactica, often being shooed from the engine room by Colonel Tigh and bouncing around to various parts of the active battlestar, including the launch bay. Following Boomer from the launch bay, he happens upon a funeral ceremony to commemorate the pilots lost, and realizes the sacrifice many Warriors make to protect them. Commander Adama comes across the distraught boy and consoles him, escorting him to core command and promising him that Boxey will someday grow up to see Earth (vol2).

Athena helps uncover the fact that Xam is responsible for not only the dreams of Earth affecting a great many of the Fleet's denizens but also the phantom "artifact" that is "discovered" in the storm zone (vol2—).
Later, as they transit a black hole, Boxey is briefly seen cavorting about Galactica with his trusted robotic daggit, Muffit (vol3 & ).
